Research Management - Energy and Water

About us

We are specialised in the management of Research and Development activities. Working with companies, universities and other organisations we facilitate the acquisition of public funding, the management of the projects and the development of their results.

Our main focus areas

are energy and water but we have also applied our expertise in other fields including climate change, ICT, life sciences and social sciences.

We can support your organisation in securing funding from European programmes, implementation of your project and utilising the results to develop final products for market.

Facilitating energy storage to allow high penetration of intermittent renewable energy

The stoRE project facilitates the realization of the ambitious objectives for renewable energy by unblocking the potential for energy storage developments. The project aims to create the right regulatory and market conditions that will give incentives for the development of energy storage infrastructure to the extent necessary for the accommodation of the planned renewable energy installations to the electricity grid.

stoRE is co-funded by the Intelligent Energy for Europe programme of the European Commission, it started in May 2011 and is coordinated by WIP-Renewable Energies.

Reverse Electrodialysis for Alternative Power Production

REAPower targets the extraction of the “osmotic energy” from two salt solutions showing a large difference in salt concentration, what is called salinity gradient power (SGP). For doing that the project is developing the necessary materials, components and processes for applying reverse electrodialysis on brine and seawater, a highly innovative and very promising approach.

REAPower is co-funded by the 7th Framework Programme of the European Commission, started in October 2010 and is coordinated by WIP-Renewable Energies.

European Network for co-ordination of policies and programmes on e-infrastructures

The e-InfraNet project coordinate on a European level the e-infrastructure policies, promoting pan-European collaboration of scientists from all S&T fields. The project focuses on the following key areas: Cloud Computing, Green Computing, Openness.

e-infraNet is an ERA-NET project funded by the 7th Framework Programme of the European Commission, started in January 2010 and is coordinated by the HEA.

Regional Networks for the development of a Sustainable Market for Bioenergy in Europe

The BioRegions project supports rural European areas to increase their bio-energy use in order to cover at least one third of their needs for heating and electricity. Initially areas from France, Czech Republic, Ireland, Bulgaria and Latvia are targeted but many more countries will benefit eventually.

BioRegions is co-funded by the Intelligent Energy for Europe programme of the European Commission, started in May 2010 and is coordinated by WIP-Renewable Energies.
